Women @ RADA: Suffrage Plays

Directed two short comic plays: How The Vote Was Won, and Pot and Kettle – both written by Cicely Hamilton and Christopher St John, written and performed by the Actresses Franchise League between 1909 and 1913. How The Vote Was Won follows a man who doesn’t believe in suffrage – and his female relatives who have a cunning plan to persuade him otherwise.

The performances were followed by a Q and A with Naomi Paxton, actress and editor of the Methuen Drama Book of Suffrage Plays.

Presented by Women @ RADA, an initiative to promote gender equality in theatre and film.

At Bloomsbury Festival, in the Conway Hall London – October 2015
